One vacancy has become available in the DNBS Services Department at Portsmouth Naval Base for a Project Engineer (M&E). The successful candidate will form part of a team responsible for the delivery of projects supporting the upkeep of the Naval Base at Portsmouth. This will include liaison with the Customers, Design and Specification of solutions and oversight of installation / commissioning. As a Project Engineer your main responsibilities will involve: Plan, lead and control engineering activities to ensure delivery against customer programmes. Manage teams of engineers from different disciplines on specific projects. Report to Senior Management on delivery against programme milestones and budgetary targets. Provide technical governance of engineering processes, identifying improvements in accordance with relevant standards, best practice and developing needs. Act as engineering focal point for interface with customers, suppliers and collaborators. Ensure that chosen design solutions comply with regulatory requirements. Monitor and maintain the technical integrity of the project output. Review and approve technical reports and other documentation. As a Project Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include: Engineering degree qualified (or suitably experienced) with suitable experience in Project Engineering / Management Role. Hold appropriate Health & Safety Qualifications (IOSH or NEBOSH). Qualified to a recognised level of Project Management. Proven project management track record. The candidate will also need to be IT literate with particular emphasis on MS Office Suite including MS Project. What we're looking for in you The role requires a self-motivated, pro-active individual with an ability to communicate effectively with the "on-site" customer community (MoD, BAE and other Naval Base lodger units). You must also possess excellent interpersonal and team working skills, together with an ability to maintain a focus on quality whilst working under pressure to tight timescales. 37 hours per week.
